RHEOMIX 685 

Description

RHEOMIX 685 is a plasticiser / accelerating liquid admixture with air entraining properties. Designed for use in no-slump concrete, it is ideally suited for factory-line concrete production such as block making. RHEOMIX 685 assists in the manufacture of a more uniform and predictable concrete. Chloride free RHEOMIX 685 may also be used in dry pack, standard and light weight concrete production.

Packaging

RHEOMIX 685 is available in bulk or in 210 litre drums.

Dosage

As a starting base for factory trials a rate between 325ml/100kg and 650ml/100kg is recommended. Local production conditions and material types may necessitate dosages outside this range. Please consult your BASF Middle East representative for further advice.

Application

  • Mix the aggregates, the cement and 75% of the mixing water.
  • Add the RHEOMIX 685 together with the rest of the mixing water.
  • After all ingredients are added continue mixing for 60 to 90 seconds.

Health and safety

Avoid contact with eyes and prolonged contact with skin. During application always wear gloves and appropriate clothing to minimise contact. In case of contact with eyes, immediately flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Should skin contact occur, wash immediately with soap and water. Seek the advice of a physician should symptoms persist.

Storage

Store under cover, out of direct sunlight and protect from extremes of temperature. Shelf life is up to 2 years when stored as above. Failure to comply with the recommended storage conditions may result in premature deterioration of the product or packaging. For specific storage advice consult BASF's Technical Services Department.
