CM96 

Description

CM96 is an acid-based cleaner and degreasing solution for use on brickwork and concrete.

Primary uses

Rapid removal of cement mortar stains, grime, oil, grease, algae, moss and wax from brickwork, concrete, asbestos, terrazzo and ceramics.

Typical applications

Cleaning of brickwork and floors in garages, factories, breweries, general building sites etc., where efficient cleaning is required.

Also ideal for etching of concrete surfaces as preparation for epoxy resin screeds and toppings.

• Less hazardous than traditional 'brick acids'.

Composition

CM96 is a dark yellow coloured acid solution modified with active detergents. It is of similar viscosity to water.

Directions for use

Remove any loosely adhering and excess contamination by physical abrasion with wire brush or scraper. To prevent discoloration or damage to more delicate substrates it is recommended that the optimum strength of solution be established by applying test areas starting at a 2:1 water / cleaner dilution. Areas of severe contamination may require more than one treatment using neat cleaner. The product should be applied by brush using a scrubbing action.

Rinse off before drying out occurs.

Where etching of concrete is required prior to application of epoxies, use undiluted, scrub well in with a stiff bristle brush, allow about 10 minutes to act (less in hot weather) and then liberally hose down to completely wash away all the solution. Allow to dry prior to the application of the epoxy.

Watchpoints

• Do not decant into metal containers.
• CM96 is not suitable as a cleaner prior to the application of sodium silicate or floor treatment.
• Do not mix with other cleaners or chemicals - only water.
• Protect adjacent finishes.

Coverage rate

Up to 4m² per litre, dependent upon porosity or contamination of substrate.

Packaging

CM96 is available in 20 litres.

Storage

Do not store above waist height. Store where children cannot gain access.

All surfaces to be cleaned or etched shall receive one or more applications of CM96 cleaner and degreasing solution, as manufactured by BASF Middle East or similar approved, to the following specification:

The liquid shall be applied in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations and then flushed away with clean water. Protect all adjacent finishes.

Health and safety

CM96 is acidic and may burn in contact with skin. Gloves and eye protection should be used at all times. In case of skin or eye contact, flush thoroughly with clean cold water and seek medical advice. The product is harmful if ingested.
